One way for people to get to know the confirmed specs of an upcoming device aside from official announcements is through their listings on online retailers. That is what happened with the Radeon RX 7700 XT, which was spotted on the Best Buy website.
Radeon RX 7700 XT Spotted Listed on Best Buy But With Questionable Specs
According to Tom's Hardware, the Radeon RX 7700 XT was spotted on the US online retailer's website. Its specs were spotted on Best Buy ahead of the official launch by AMD. The listing was shared by momomo_us on Twitter or X. The tech detective discovered the listing on the online retailer's website.
As seen on the shared images and specs, the device was listed under the name Gigabyte GV-R77XTGAMING OC-12GD. However, the problem with the Radeon RX 7700 XT listing was that it came with a few issues.
As of press time, the listing has already been taken down, but before that, there were indications of AMD reportedly revealing the Navi 32 GPUs with two GPUs on the Gamescom.
Best Buy Listing Looks to Have Mismatched Specs, as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Was Mentioned
The two GPUs expected to be revealed include the RX 7800 XT and the RX 7700 XT. However, until the device is officially announced, it's important to exercise caution regarding the Best Buy listing.
Tom's Hardware reported that it seemed that someone copied the Gigabyte RTX 4070 listing, which already exists, but modified certain features and missed some key points.
The product's GPU was reportedly mentioned as the "Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070," but it came with images of the Gigabyte Radeon RX 7900 XT's packaging.
Other Suspicious Details Regarding the Best Buy Listing Include Its Price
Another similar detail includes the price of a specific GPU copied from the RTX 4070 TI's listing, which was at $879. It was also reported that the listing was higher than the RTX 4070 and the RX 7900 XT.
Despite the inconsistencies and questionable details, one thing that the listing might have gotten right was the name, GIGABYTE - Radeon RX 7700XT Gaming OC 12GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Graphics Card. The pricing could be off as it was listed at $999.99 but dropped to $879.99.
Best Buy Listing Might Have Gotten the Gigabyte Size of RX 7700 XT Right
Tom's Hardware also reported that although some of the listing details remain suspicious or mismatched, it indicates that the RX 7700 XT would be coming with a VRAM of 12GB, which seemed correct.
AMD is expected to launch the RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT models, which will come with 256-bit and 192-bit interfaces, respectively, on August 25. The 7800 XT is expected to carry 16GB, while the 7700 XT would be packed with 12GB of VRAM.
