While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 bummed several people when it was first announced, they did not know much about the plans by Activision Blizzard and Sledgehammer Games regarding this game. Now that there are massive details confirmed, it is looking out to bring a different experience for gamers, moving away from its traditional formula.
One of the most noticeable additions from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is its open-world campaign, as well as the upcoming massive Zombie map, the first of its kind for the MW franchise, and also the biggest.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Open-World Campaign
Sledgehammer Games and Activision Blizzard have already announced the upcoming Modern Warfare 3, and it promises a new experience for gamers, centering on its open campaign experience. The developers call this the "Open Combat Missions" (OCM) which will adapt to the preference of gamers regarding a campaign.
"Not only do these complement the cinematic missions you've come to expect, but they also provide you with numerous additional choices regarding your methods of mission completion," said Sledgehammer.
Either do the mission in stealth by using silencers and night-vision goggles, or go all-out with heavy-hitting weapons and explosives, this will be played out depending on their choice.
Biggest Zombie Map on COD coming to MW3
Part of the announcement was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Zombies mode, one that will be the biggest in all of its releases ever said Engadget.
The fan-favorite map is coming natively with MW3, also offering an open campaign that allows players to band together and complete its missions in a PvE (person versus environment) setup.
Enemies are larger and the map is the biggest ever in history, made especially for MW3.
Call of Duty's Modern Warfare 3
Early August saw the first confirmation of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and it was the teaser that brought the initial look and expectation of the game. It brought a hidden phone number that has a direct connection to the previous game, and it featured one that users can text and get exclusive information, as part of Activision Blizzard's marketing.
This also follows the August 17 event that dropped earlier, known as the Shadow Siege which brings a special campaign for gamers. This event was meant to reveal the game for the world to see, centering on Warzone 2.0 to bring the experience to gamers, giving a preview of what story to anticipate and the tone MW3 would set.
Despite being a remaster of an old game, Modern Warfare 3's present revelations and details are giving the public a seemingly new game that brings many developments to the experience, but still centers on the 2011 title. With the open campaign experience and Zombie map, Modern Warfare 3 is already shaping up to be a promising game, but this is not yet everything it has to offer.
