[UPDATE] Mark Zuckerberg Says Elon Musk Keeps Making Things up About Cage Match and He’s 'Ready to Fight'

The question remains: Is the cage fight really happening?

Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk have both wanted to face each other in the ring, but the Meta CEO claimed that the X owner said something about their upcoming fight that surprised him.

Zuckerberg said Friday on Threads that he was "ready" and looking forward to fighting Musk in a ring but asked the public not to believe there was a scheduled date until he confirms it.

"I love this sport and I've been ready to fight since the day Elon challenged me. If he ever agrees on an actual date, you'll hear it from me. Until then, please assume anything he says has not been agreed on," Zuckerberg wrote.

More than a month since the challenge was issued, the two tech billionaires have been approached by one of the world's top fighting leagues, the UFC, who wants this fight to happen.

Mark Zuckerberg Wants Elon Musk to Stop Making Things Up

Mark Zuckerberg is no longer tolerating Elon Musk, and in the post, he noted that both sides have not agreed on everything the X owner says. For now, he urged the public not to believe Musk about what he was saying regarding their fight.

In a separate post, Zuckerberg said he's not holding his breath for Musk, but he would share the details of his next fight when he's ready.

He noted that he wants to fight on a legitimate stage like the MMA or ONE, which means some fighting event may happen in the future whether or not Musk is involved.

Mark Zuckerberg Wants to Fight Elon Musk, But Italy Is a Bogus Event

Hours before Mark Zuckerberg's posted his statement, Elon Musk tweeted on the Twitter-turned-X platform that local officials had already agreed to take their epic fight to Italy.

The X owner further noted that UFC will not be the one to manage the fight since it will all be handled by his and Zuckerberg's foundations.

"The fight will be managed by my and Zuck's foundations (not UFC). Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all. I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location," Musk said.

A spokesperson for Italy's culture minister Gennaro Sangiuliano confirmed to Fast Company that Musk did speak with the politician about the potential of hosting the fight in the country.

However, the minister noted that no such fights would take place in the country, particularly in the capital, Rome, which also leaves the Colosseum out of the equation.

Tech Billionaires' Brawl: Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg

The world is very much invested in seeing Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg of the world's top social media platforms, hash out their differences and skills in the ring, with both preferring the Octagon for their fight.

Moreover, this is something that UFC and its President, Dana White, are also invested in seeing in real life, with Musk and Zuckerberg getting a stage to sort out their beef. However, it is taking a long time to set this fight.

The radio silence over this matter in the past weeks has led to people creating AI-generated images of the two CEOs holding hands and walking on a beach depicting a happy couple.

However, it seems like Zuckerberg is getting riled up about all these talks coming from Musk regarding the cage match. He even suggested an August 26 date for the fight.

But the match will likely not happen anytime soon as Musk recently said that he needs "a few months" to recuperate from minor surgery on his right shoulder blade.
