Pokemon Go has long been evolving and while originally being designed as an AR game where players would have to physically move, the game was able to evolve with new features and additions. As of press time, the game continues to evolve with even players trying to push new features.
Pokemon Go Trainers have Shared Their Desire for a New Feature to Niantic, the Creator of the Game
According to the story by Game Is Hard, Pokemon Go trainers have started to express their desire for a new feature to Niantic. The feature, if actually implemented, could see the addition of a safety gauge on the game in order to help prevent the accidental purification of powerful Shadow Pokemon.
It was also noted that whenever players capture the Shadow Pokemon, they would reportedly be able to get a boost in attack power. This boost is reportedly beneficial, especially for players who enter PvP battles against other trainers in Pokemon Go.
Reddit User Expressed How the Game Needed a Purification Lock to Prevent Users to Accidentally Use Them
A specific comment was made by the Reddit user named "Some-Ostrich-4996" on the Silph Road subreddit, which suggested that Niantic should include a "purification lock" in the game. This would be to help prevent players from accidentally using purifications.
A number of players have already agreed and also shared their experiences regarding how they accidentally purified a Shadow Pokemon instead of supposedly powering them up. This could cause a problem for some players especially if it was done against what players were supposed to do in the game.
Niantic is Expected to Add Improvements to the Game, Like How the Shadow Creatures were Implemented
It was also reported that some trainers have also suggested how Niantic should add improvements when it comes to the game, like how the Shadow creatures should've been implemented in a different way within the game.
It was then noted that the Shadow Pokemon have increased attack power but that they had lower defense as well as weaker Charged Moves when it comes to Frustration. It was then explained that this sometimes makes them a better option compared to the purified Pokemon.
The Shadow Pokemon are Internally Weak When It Comes to Battles
A particular trainer also proposed that Niantic should have previously made the Shadow Pokemon more similar to the types of Pokemon found in Pokemon Colosseum as well as XD; Gale of Darkness.
This is where the Shadow Pokemon are internally weak when it comes to battles. This was designed to encourage players to purify them.

Unclear Reasoning Behind Niantic's Decision Regarding the Approach
As of press time, it remains unclear as to why Niantic decided not to follow this particular approach. To add, players have also expressed that they've had unusual experiences while trying to catch a particular Shadow Regirock in Pokemon Go.
Fans of Pokemon that haven't tried out Pokemon Go can do so by going to the official Pokemon Go website, where players can download the title and start their journey as a trainer.
