This was made possible with the company's new gaming division, Lemokey, and alongside it debuts the L3 Gaming Keyboard which sports an aluminum body for its extra toughness.

Keychron announced via a press release the arrival of its new Lemokey gaming division that will focus on delivering a lineup of mechanical gaming keyboards that combines the best of both worlds. While Keychron's previous releases already featured mechanical keebs, they were not advertised or made for gaming unlike this new release.

"Many gaming keyboards lack customization options and fail to offer a premium typing experience. With the introduction of Lemokey, we aim to cater to the unique needs of the gaming community," said Paul Tan, COO of Keychron.

This highly-customizable wireless and wired gaming keyboard features an aluminum body for the extra strength it needs unlike other offers from Keychron which only feature the plastic build. It features a 2.4 GHz wireless connection as well as 1,000 polling rate for its connections, also available up to 3 Bluetooth connections.

"Crafted with a 6063 full aluminum body, L3 possesses the durability and resilience needed for competitive gaming," added Tan.

It is a tenkeyless or 80 percent keyboard design with dedicated volume knobs, as well as its QMK/VIA firmware to custom map macro commands.

The Lemokey L3 is coming this October for $209 for the fully-assembled version or $189 for the barebones kit.

Gaming and Mechanical Keyboards

Mechanical keyboards have become a massive trend in the latest years, and this is because one of its key features is allowing owners to style their keebs to fit their desktop setup. Keychron is one of the most iconic companies to do this, but there are also others who offer it including the renowned smartphone company, OnePlus.

This is still different from what are known as gaming keyboards, as some gaming-rated peripherals are not mechanical, and vice versa. However, in recent times, gamers were given the chance to own both under one package from different companies which offer mechanical gaming keyboards from the likes of Razer, Corsair, and more.

Now, one of the most iconic companies which focus mainly on mechanical keyboards are focusing their efforts towards gaming, with its new division called the Lemokey. Soon, gamers will get a chance to experience the iconic build and form factor by Keychron through its first Lemokey L3 gaming keyboard coming soon.
