As part of its latest PlayStation 5 software beta, Sony is bringing an all-new Dolby Atmos support along with several UI improvements.
Aside from that, the console maker will also offer an expandable M.2 SSD storage support that can reach up to 8TB.
While these features are expected to be available in select countries, we could see more of them coming in the next few months.
PS5 Software Beta Adds Dolby Atmos Support
According to GamesRadar, the highlight of the PlayStation 5 software beta is the Dolby Atmos support which looks forward to enhancing user's experience in gaming.
With the 3D Audio implementation by Sony, Dolby Atmos-compatible devices such as smart TVs, speakers, and more can now be used.
This PS5 feature also became available on Netflix and other apps. With this, the company says that audio devices can operate for "even greater levels of immersion in audioscapes" of PlayStation 5 titles.
PS5 Beta Brings Expandable Storage
Aside from the Dolby Atmos support, PS5 users could soon take advantage of the expandable M.2 SSD storage. Surprisingly, a 4TB storage is already a bang for the buck, but have you wondered if it exceeds its usual limit? This time, you can increase it to up to 8TB thanks to the beta software.
As for this feature, there are certain requirements that should be met first, but in the end, it's definitely a great trade, especially for PS5 owners who are looking to expand their current storage.

Sony UI Improvements For PS5 Software Beta
In another story by The Verge, PS5 testers are also getting a much-needed upgrade for the UI features. Additionally, Sony is granting users the ability to mute the beep sound that appears when they switch on or off the console.
Simply put, these features are too good as additions, but nothing gets on the nerves of the players who enjoy every "thrill" in the game. With the new option for haptic feedback, gamers can activate this accessibility feature anew.
For players who are struggling with the current game, a new feature will help you breeze through the game thanks to the assist controller option.
So much for that, PS5 users should also enjoy inviting friends without the need of adding them to a clan. It's quite similar to Discord since you can preview the profile of another game before he/she joins the party.
With this, befriending other gamers in PS5 is now made easier. Sony also introduces emojis that users can utilize if they want to react to the messages.
