Meta Threads Burst its Bubble of Fame—Not All 100M Users Who Signed Up Came Back said Zuck

Was it only used for the clout or not as good as Twitter?

It was earlier confirmed that Meta had a company town hall meeting, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg already addressed the current fate of Threads in the world. It already saw its bubble of fame burst, as what the tech CEO expected, particularly as there are significant expectations that not everyone that joined before on its massive growth would all come back.

Most new apps from before had lived in a bubble when they first rose to fame, but there would come a time that not all who tried it are frequent users that loved it.

According to Reuters who listened to Meta's town hall meeting audio, Threads is already losing as much as half of its users, particularly its mDAUs (monetizable daily active users, a metric Twitter used).

Zuck addressed the company regarding Threads' current drop in its numbers now-and according to Similar Web's report, it was apparent throughout July for Android, but has not yet obtained its iOS numbers for now.

This only means one thing, and this is the bubble of fame Threads initially experienced has already burst after its massive run since it launched.

It was seen that more than half of the people that signed up for Threads and were there during its launch have already stopped using the app altogether.

Zuck said that It Was Expected, But Retention is Its Next Goal

"Obviously, if you have more than 100 million people sign up, ideally it would be awesome if all of them or even half of them stuck around. We're not there yet," Zuckerberg said to its employees.

According to Ars Technica, despite these factors, Zuck is determined that Threads will still grow and it now focuses on user retention for its run.

Still, in the earlier meeting, Zuck said that its retention is larger compared to what was expected, and that remains a good thing for the new app.

Meta's Threads and its Massive Growth in the Beginning

One of the fastest growing apps in the present is Meta's Threads, and this came at a time when Twitter is facing many issues where it was changing a lot for the platform. In a week, Threads already saw 100 million users and what was iconic here that is the numbers for the daily active users, with Twitter seeing less traffic.

The fame of Threads grew because it gave users an alternative to Twitter, and also came at the time when its CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk have an ongoing beef. It was also believed that Threads was the one that would take down Twitter and quickly rose as one of its strongest rivals in the present for text-only apps.

However, it is not a sure shot for Threads' rise to fame in the present, as there are other factors to consider for it to solidify its place in the world. The bubble of fame that it experienced already burst, much like what is believed for the crypto industry, which Zuck and the company have already considered, and now, it is set to gun for retention and securing its growth in the industry.
