An ex-Google senior executive has recently made an interesting prediction that AI robots may replace humans for sex in the near future. According to his statements, the day AI robots could replace humans in intimate settings may be closer than expected.
Replacing Humans With AI Robots
During an interview with YouTube host Tom Bilyeu on the "Impact Theory" podcast, Interesting Engineering reported that a former senior executive at Google believes that artificial intelligence-powered sex robots could potentially replace human partners in the near future.
Former Google's research-and-development arm X's chief business officer Mo Gawdat cautioned that AI advancements could transform "love and relationships" that will see artificially-created encounters becoming as satisfying as real-life interactions.
"Just think of all the illusions we're now unable to decipher, illusions from truth... Sex happens in the brain, at the end of the day. The physical side of it is not that difficult to simulate," Gawdat noted.
Existing Devices to Incorporate AI
He elaborated on the idea that in the near future, virtual reality and augmented reality headsets, such as Apple's Vision Pro or Quest 3, could be employed to simulate sexual experiences.
He also noted that the concept was rather intricate as it all boils down to signals in the brain, triggering sensations of companionship and sexuality.
Regarding developments such as Neuralink that establishes direct connections between technology and the nervous system, Decrypt reported that the potential to render human partners unnecessary arises.
Gawdat said, "If technology enables you to experience the same sensations as your partner, why would the presence of another being be essential?" Gawdat further noted that even emotional and psychological aspects of relationships could be artificially replicated through brain signaling.
He dismissed the debates surrounding the true sentience of AI bots, stating that their reality is subjective and irrelevant if individuals believe in the authenticity of these illusions.
The ongoing discussion about this ever-changing landscape's ethical and moral aspects is somehow divided. Some critics advocate stopping AI research and development, fearing that AI could soon take over knowledge-based industries and human relationships.
At the same time, they view AI as having the potential to fulfill human desires and fantasies. For instance, The New York Post reported that a 23-year-old Snapchat influencer named Caryn Marjorie developed a ChatGTP-powered virtual replica of herself with the ability to engage in intimate conversations.
The AI-powered sexbot, known as CarynAI, has amassed an impressive number of over 1,000 boyfriends, each paying $1 per minute for its services.
