Twitter seems to be getting ready to introduce a new feature that permits verified organizations on the platform to display job listings on their profile after establishing an official @TwitterHiring account. However, no tweets have been posted from it at the moment.
Allowing Job Postings on Profiles
Verified Organizations on Twitter are gradually gaining access to the platform's new job listings feature. According to a report from TechCrunch, this allows select businesses to post job openings directly on their Twitter profiles.
A screenshot, shared by app researcher Nima Owji, reveals an upcoming feature on Twitter known as "Twitter Hiring." This feature is reportedly designed to enable verified organizations to attract talent to their open positions. Additionally, verified organizations will have the option to showcase up to five job positions directly on their Twitter profiles.
This also reveals that Twitter plans to facilitate the process for verified organizations to display their open job listings on the platform by allowing them to import all their available jobs through a supported ATS (Applicant Tracking System) or XML feed. By connecting to these systems, verified organizations can seamlessly add their job listings to Twitter within minutes.
Competing with LinkedIn, Indeed
The introduction of this feature isn't entirely unexpected as owner Elon Musk had previously hinted at it in the previous months. When a user proposed the idea of Twitter implementing dating features, Musk responded with intrigue, suggesting that jobs could also be a potential addition to the platform.
As this feature has been gradually launched all over the world, Social Media Today reported that Twitter is now poised to challenge well-established platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed with the introduction of this new feature.
Last May, Forbes reported that the company made its first acquisition since Elon Musk purchased the app after buying a job-matching tech startup called Laskie. For strategic acquisition may have played a significant role in the development and implementation of this feature, enabling the social media giant to advance in this direction.
Prior to these, companies have already started to display job listings on their profiles. However, they are only doing it on their bios, providing links to third-party websites to proceed with the application process.
These job listings act as a bridge, directing potential candidates straight to the company's website. From there, applicants can gather comprehensive information about the job opening, gain insights into the position's requirements and responsibilities, and proceed to submit their applications conveniently.
