Social media network, TikTok, is now letting the world know that users may enjoy a secure password manager and instant login experience with its latest integration of Apple's iOS 16 Passkeys feature on the app. The recent integration is giving people the chance to no longer need to remember their passwords at all times for logins.
Many companies have already offered password managers as a way to avert the signup process on different apps or websites, effectively simplifying the experience, with Apple known for its security.
TikTok is Getting iOS Passkeys Integration for Passwords
TikTok announced in its latest news release that it is integrating iOS 16's Passkeys feature into the social media app, and not only does it help as a password manager, but an authenticator for iPhone, iPad, and other devices.
Passkeys would help secure one's account via Apple's biometrics authentication like the Face or Touch ID. Instead of the need to input one's passwords, Passkeys would enable users to authenticate login via these biometrics on the TikTok app.
All of their biometric and authenticating data are only available on the said device, and would not be accessible in third-party channels or the like. TikTok's integration of Passkeys introduces a way to log in without passwords, through the use of this Apple feature.

TikTok is Now a FIDO Alliance Member, joining Apple
In line with its significant commitment to expanding more of the app's security and capabilities, TikTok also announced that it is now a FIDO Alliance member, joining the likes of Apple and Google. This organization is known for its active efforts to eradicate password use and focus on other methods of authentication available in the present day.
Apple's Passkeys and its Features
Apple officially debuted the Passkeys feature during WWDC 2022, and it originally came with the iOS 16 operating system, promising a "passwordless" experience with the devices. However, this was not the first revelation of Apple's Passkeys, as it was originally unveiled in WWDC 2021 and was set for internal testing before arriving with the feature.
Passkeys help with averting phishing attacks or hackers getting ahold of one's passwords to use for their access to one's account.
One of the most notable features of Apple's Passkeys is its end-to-end encryption and use of biometrics to secure and protect one's saved login method to different apps and websites for iOS and macOS.
The passwordless experience is already here from different tech companies in the world, with Apple bringing it closer to one's smartphone via Passkeys. TikTok's latest integration of Passkeys will enable more security and assurance to users whenever logging in or out of their social media app, with TikTok now a FIDO Alliance member that further cements its security.
