Other Reports Dub the News as Still a 'Rumor' Which Microsoft Still Needs to Announce
As Wario64 notes, the update would still include online multiplayer and numerous new and old benefits. However, it will retain the same price as the Xbox Live Gold service, so fans won't have to spend more amid the update's launch.
An article by VG Chartz, however, notes that the change remains just a "rumor" and that fans will have to wait for the official announcement as to whether Microsoft will really be changing the Xbox Live Gold to Xbox Game Pass Core on September 1.
Xbox Live Gold Members to Automatically be Changed Into Xbox Game Pass Core Members
The article also highlighted how the existing Xbox Live Gold members would automatically be changed into subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Core. This means that for Xbox Live Gold members, any games that they would've acquired with their Gold access would still retain in their account.
