The latest NVIDIA GPUs were designed to be a budget solution for those who still wanted high-powered graphics without the expensive price tag. Instead of costing thousands of dollars, these GPUs reportedly sat around the $300 price range.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Spotted Selling on European Online Retailers for 6% Off Its Original Price
According to Video Cardz, the price of the newly released NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 was slashed by around 6%. It comes after the non-Ti graphics card reportedly failed to make a strong impression among gamers, especially in Europe.
The new GPU has reportedly failed to captivate a strong audience, which confirmed earlier predictions. The situation is worse in Europe, where the GPU prices have already been discounted despite being recently launched.
2 European Online Retailers Reportedly Selling the NVIDIA GPU With a Discount Even if it Was Just Recently Launched
Video Cardz reported that gamers were unconvinced by the new offering. Thus, some retailers have resorted to offering discounts on custom NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 cards to attract potential buyers.
According to WCCF Tech, the German retailer Mindfactory listed the RTX 4060 at a reduced price of €310 ($337). French retailer Hardware.fr has also followed suit, offering the same MSI Ventus 2X model for €309 ($336) using a coupon.
Discount Is 6% Off From the Original Price of €329
The discounted price was reportedly a 6% drop from its initial price of €329 ($357). The price drop happened just six days after the NVIDIA graphics card's initial release, which normally doesn't happen.
The WCCF Tech noted that this reduction is probably not that significant, but they still expect the price to go down further in the coming days because of the lack of consumer interest.
The cause behind it is reportedly the performance that the RTX 4060 brings. Some reports noted that the performance uplift of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 is limited to 15% to 20% from the previous generation, and the company has also reduced the VRAM size. NVIDIA experienced the opposite with its previous graphics cards.
Prices in the US Remained the Same: NVIDIA GPU Still Selling at Its Initial Price of $299 Since the Launch
So far, no price drops have been reported in the United States, with the price staying at $299 since launch. At certain points, especially during the pandemic, scalpers have tried to capitalize on reselling NVIDIA GPUs at higher prices. The prices for certain graphics cards reportedly doubled on the secondary market.
A PC Games review shows that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 offers not-so-notable specs. Thus, it is reportedly not the mainstream marvel it should be.
The review noted that the GeForce GPU could offer a better pixel pusher that mainstream gamers deserve. Its base and boost clock speeds are also noticeably lower.
This graphics card is reportedly fitting for 1080p gameplay with some restrictions. Playing games at resolutions such as 1440p or 4K is either doable at a push or entirely not achievable.
