Introducing New Cycles Lineup

At the end of 2023 and by early next year, Peugeot will be expanding its lineup for its electric bicycles with several models that will offer nest connected technologies and new modern design takes. According to the press release, the company has a long history of producing bicycles that dates back over a century, so this will not be new to them.

As per Peugeot, "These offer users when it is launched, among other things, adaptive electric assistance, an anti-theft system, an alarm, bike geolocation, real-time navigation, weather forecasts at the destination, route statistics, etc."

The company also aims to market to families in urban areas where infrastructure is reserved for bicycles are undergoing like bicycle paths, parking, and separate lane. Companies of all sizes will also be targeted as it looks for a complementary and competitive offer of light vehicles adapted to last-mile delivery.

Three Electric Bikes

Among the three offerings are the Peugeot City e-bike, known as the Digital E-Bike. Electrek reported that this contains an exaggerated downtube that bisects a disconnected and minimized top tube. Aside from this, users can also see a mid-drive motor that is tied into the rear wheel including a belt drive system. This will replace the classical chain drive that was found on other e-bikes.

Meanwhile, the longtail cargo bicycle called the Digital e-Longtail will accommodate up to two children or a huge load that can be used for family rides. Peugeot described the bike whose elongated rear can comfortably accommodate anybody, featuring a classic design with a much longer rear compared to other bicycles.

As for the last offering, the third e-bike called Digital e-Front Load was described as a bike with an extended front and wheelbase to accommodate three more children and heavy loads. Not only it can be used for families but also for professional use. Bikes like these are typically popular in Europe and are commonly used in the continent, while US families frequently used SUVs.

Since 1885, Peugeot has been an important player in the market as it offers exclusive licensee Cycleurope Industries. Green Car Congress reported that this is the same company that designs, manufactures, and distributes existing products in the market, including electric bikes, and Mountain bikes.

Just last week, PEUGEOT Motorcycles released a strategy that pushes ther make into the industry. VisorDown reported that the company partnered with French electric bike maker DAB Motors to upscale its existing range of motorcycles, which can now be seen through the collaboration of two companies.
