Amazon Echo Pop Is Now the Cheapest Alexa-Enabled Speaker: Here Are Its Features

Here is one of the solutions to bring Alexa to more rooms without buying the more expensive older Amazon Echo models.

Amazon has recently launched the Amazon Echo Pop speaker, one of the solutions to bring Alexa to more rooms without buying the more expensive older Echo models.

The Amazon Echo Pop provides almost all the features buyers need in an Alexa speaker without putting out too much cash.

Amazon Echo Pop Listed as the Most Affordable Alexa Device Ahead of Independence Day Sale

According to Android Central, the Amazon Echo Pop was recently spotted being sold as the most affordable Alexa device ahead of the Independence Day Sale. Buyers can now purchase the speaker for as low as $40, cheaper than similar devices.

The report specified that the Amazon Echo Pop is now the cheapest Alexa-enabled speaker. It is a semi-sphere colorful smart speaker that accentuates most decor but also doubles as a Matter smart home standard controller and an extender for Amazon's Eero mesh Wi-Fi system, all for a more affordable price tag.

However, it is also important to note that this speaker has fewer features than some other Amazon devices.

Amazon Echo Pop Does Not Come With an Action Button to Access Alexa

One of the cons of the Amazon Echo Pop is that it is not as feature-rich as the Echo Dot. It does not include an Action button to invoke Alexa.

It was also reported that the sound quality of the Amazon Echo Pop is not great in larger rooms. Anyone who wants better sound should spend more on a fourth- or fifth-gen Echo Dot.

According to Android Central, there was a "race to the bottom" between Amazon and Google in the fight for the best smart speakers for quite a while, and it seemed that Amazon had taken the lead since there are more Alexa speakers available than Google offers for Assistant.

Wired reported that the Amazon Echo Pop was launched last May alongside the 2023 Echo Show 5, Show 5 Kids, and the Echo Buds.

Buyers Can Choose From Lavander Bloom, Glacier White, Midnight Teal, and Charcoal

The Echo Pop speaker has four color options: Lavander Bloom, Glacier White, Midnight Teal, and Charcoal. The Amazon Echo Pop reportedly starts at just $39.99. However, buyers can also purchase it as a bundle with Amazon Music Unlimited and an Alexa Smart Plug.

The Echo Pop reportedly operates like any other Alexa smart speaker, and it quickly responds when you are near it due to its AZ2 Neural Edge processor, which is 20% faster than the previous generation.

Android Central reported that one would not get a response if one were a few feet away from the speaker, as it uses different microphones. The Echo Pop and Echo Dot reportedly both offer three built-in microphones.

However, the Dot could regularly pick up a voice even when someone was down the hall. Another missing on the Echo Pop were various sensors, such as motion detection and temperature sensor found in the Echo Dot.
