YouTuber MrBeast Says He Got Invited to Join Ill-Fated Titan Submersible

The famous YouTuber was shocked.

MrBeast, a well-known YouTuber, has said that he was offered the opportunity to go with the tragic Titan submarine while it explored the iconic Titanic debris.

He revealed a text conversation in which he was requested to join the deep sea voyage but rejected, expressing his shock at the fatal ending, in a post on Twitter on Sunday, per Daily Mail. Authorities declared all crew members aboard the Titan submarine tragically lost their lives following its disappearance shortly after launch and subsequent implosion.

The Titan submarine has reportedly gone missing as of June 18, prompting a widespread search effort to locate the vessel and its crew. Fragments of the submersible were found on the ocean bottom after 96 hours. During that time, its oxygen supply was anticipated to run out, leading officials to believe it had suffered a catastrophic implosion.

The five people on board-CEO Stockton Rush, Shahzada and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet-were reported to have tragically perished on Thursday by OceanGate, the corporation in charge of managing the submersible. OceanGate released a statement expressing its profound grief and honored the explorers for their spirit of adventure and dedication to ocean research and protection.

'Titanic' Director Laments on The Titan Tragedy

Concerns concerning the Titan submersible's safety and OceanGate's practices have been raised due to the event. James Cameron, a well-known deep-sea explorer and filmmaker best known for the 1997 blockbuster movie "Titanic," has criticized the submersible's safety measures and linked the incident to the historic ocean liner tragedy, as per an NPR report.

James Cameron, a deep-sea explorer with significant expertise who has undertaken multiple dives to the Titanic crash site, revealed his early belief that the Titan had exploded. He added that he had evidence indicating that the submersible hull may have split under pressure, prompting the crew to take emergency action.

The iconic filmmaker also highlighted his qualms about OceanGate's safety strategy and said that the deep submergence community, including himself, had long voiced concerns about the firm's operating procedures. James Cameron also bemoaned the company's disdain for professional guidance and the established certification procedure, highlighting how OceanGate had focused only on vessel inspection while omitting important operational safety considerations.

OceanGate's Flaws Detected Earlier

Oregon State University's marine geologist and deep-sea diving expert, Chris Goldfinger, compared the Titanic's sinking and the Titan submersible's implosion. Goldfinger referred to the Titan as an "underprepared vehicle." per ABC News. He emphasized that the Titan, run by OceanGate, a privately owned corporation specializing in crewed submersible assets for various uses, lacked backup systems and the presence of another submersible nearby.

An ex-employee of OceanGate claimed in a counterclaim lawsuit filed in 2018 that the business fired him due to his worries about testing and quality control relating to probable defects in the experimental submersible.

In a 2019 blog post, OceanGate responded to criticisms by saying that, although operating safety was a top priority, the certification procedure focused mainly on ships. The firm remained dedicated to fostering a secure and responsible atmosphere for exploration.
