The upcoming iOS 17 will introduce better features for your iPhone's camera and Photos app, as the Visual Look Up feature is seeing an upgrade that will help bring users more information. This means that with every photo and video, there are smart suggestions and information that will help explain several subjects, including car codes found on a dashboard.
iOS 17's Visual Look Up is Smarter, Diagnoses Car Codes
The iOS 17 preview explained that a lot is coming to the iPhone and users may be overwhelmed by all the new things coming, especially with the Visual Look Up highly reliable feature.
One of the iconic changes for iOS 17 is that the Visual Look Up is smarter in ways that bring better information to users than before.
Apple revealed several of them to the public via this preview, but 9to5 Mac said that it also offers to help drivers identify and diagnose car codes whenever it pops up on the dashboard.
This means that for those who are unfamiliar with codes that light up on the dash, the iPhone would help in identifying them and telling the drivers what they are, and is particularly helpful when in an emergency.
iOS 17 Visual Look Up Explains and Suggests More
The iOS 17 is currently in a beta users may try and sign-up for if they want to experience its features like the Visual Look Up, especially with its helpful functions as introduced by Apple.
Apart from diagnosing car codes, it can help look up certain dishes and suggest other recipes that users may do, giving them an idea of what to prepare or cook for the next time. Additionally, users may "Look Up" their newly-lifted subject to learn more about it and use it on videos to also lift subjects or search for more information.
Apple's Visual Look Up Feature
The Photos app's Visual Look Up was first introduced with iOS 15 and it helps in identifying elements in the image and giving suggested information from Siri or the web, as well as help navigate it with Maps. However, it was with iOS 16 that Apple stepped up the features of this tech by helping identify a subject and lift it out of its background.
It was not limited to the iPhone as well.
Apart from touch screen devices from Apple, it is also available on Mac computers that have the macOS Ventura with a similar feature for users. This helps identify subjects when viewing images via the Preview app, making the process easier for users without the need to use a photo editing app to crop a person, pet, item, or others from the still.
WWDC 2023 brought the world the latest information on the new operating systems of the company, with iOS 17 getting a significant highlight for its phenomenal features coming. With Visual Look Up, users would have more than Siri Knowledge, cropping subjects, or Maps navigation, but also more information that would help when in a bind.
