Margot Robbie, the woman who will be playing Harley Quinn on the big screen, has revealed a few tidbits about what fans should expect.
We won't see her in action until Suicide Squad launches in August 2016 but already we have much to get excited about.
In a short interview with Superherohype at the Sundance Film Festival, the actress said that she is working on the voice she'll be using for Harley Quinn. She also pointed out that she is excited to work with director David Ayer along with the rest of the Suicide Squad cast.
From what Robbie has said, fans should expect a Harley Quinn accent similar to the one she used in The Wolf of Wall Street but not as strong. Furthermore, it might even have a slight Brooklyn vibe to it, but it all might depend on what Ayer and Warner Bros. are interested in.
"None of those things have been set in stone at this point, but according to the comics, she's from New York and I think Brooklyn, so there may be a slight ... I couldn't imagine it would be as strong as The Wolf of Wall Street accent," she said. "The lingo will be the difference between that and the other character I played in Wolf but I don't know yet. We haven't spoken about it."
Despite whatever Robbie is working on for Harley Quinn, the voice is something she cannot afford to get wrong. It is the most unique and annoying aspect of Quinn, and fans would be furious should the voice not match what they require.
Suicide Squad is the third film in the DC Cinematic Multiverse, and it is scheduled to hit theaters on Aug. 5, 2016. The movie so far is pulling an all-star cast that includes the likes of Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as The Joker, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as the all-powerful Enchantress and Viola Davis as the "Wall," Amanda Waller.
Rick Flag is a character that is destined to be in the film, but so far Tom Hardy has chosen to drop out from the film, leaving the spot wide open for any actor who might be interested. However, since this is not a Marvel project, Warner Bros. might find it difficult to come up with a replacement.
