Coke and Riot Games have teamed up to release a League of Legends-themed soft drink that aims to taste like experience points (XP), a well-known gaming concept seldom paired with actual tastes.
The soda product will be available in the United States, Canada, China, South Korea, Latin America, and Africa today under Coca-Cola Ultimate Zero Sugar. The iconic Coca-Cola logo remains on the cans, but League of Legends artwork is included, with a mesmerizing Hextech blue glow.
This is Coca-Cola's first venture into the world of video games via its Creations brand, renowned for limited-edition releases supported by extravagant marketing campaigns, according to Forbes. Despite the odd-sounding moniker, this is an excellent chance for fans of League of Legends.
David Mulhall, Head of Business Development and Partnerships at Riot Games, noted that they are "thrilled" for gamers to check out Coke's new +XP flavor. He described it as a "distinct and exclusive collaboration" with the "globally beloved" Coca-Cola. Mulhall added that Riot Games sees the collaboration as a pleasure since the two companies' ideals align perfectly.
Oana Vlad, the senior director of global strategy at The Coca-Cola Company, further emphasized the significance of the alliance by saying that working with Riot Games enables the beverage company "to elevate" its Coca-Cola Creations platform "with an innovative flavor that reinforces our mutual commitment to prioritizing fans and players."
Level Up League of Legends Gaming Experience with Rewards
The seventh in its series of Coca-Cola Creations, Coca-Cola Ultimate has a captivating look, gives gamers the "taste of +XP" on their adventure, and improves the overall gaming experience.
Coca-Cola's new Ultimate Zero Sugar soft drink, available beginning June 7, will provide access to exclusive in-game awards for League players who meet specific in-game requirements, according to The Verge.
Here is how to obtain them:
- Get the ultimate Teamplay expression by dishing out seven assists in a single game.
- The Ultimate Gains animation will unlock whenever you get 12,000 gold in a single game.
- Get the Ultimate Tempo to emote by winning in under 20 minutes.
Until July 18, players may log into League of Legends to complete these objectives and get the corresponding emotes. Coca-Cola +XP is already available in those regions, and a full-sugar +XP flavor will soon be available in North America for those who desire it, per Polygon.
