Can AI lead to extinction? This is just one of the questions people have as artificial intelligence models continue to arrive.
Although people take advantage of these AI models, many of them are still concerned about the risks AI possibly poses. Numerous scientists also shared their insights regarding the dangers of artificial intelligence.
Now, it turns out that even officials of AI companies and tech firms with AI technologies also agree that artificial intelligence is dangerous.
Can AI Lead To Human Extinction?
According to BBC News' latest report, a statement was published by CAIS (Center for AI Safety).
The one-sentence statement said that the risk of human extinction from artificial intelligence should become a priority of the world.
The statement explained that AI's posed risk of extinction should be handled like how nuclear war and pandemics are prioritized.
CAIS said that this statement aims to help voice concerns about the most severe risks involving AI.
"It is also meant to create common knowledge of the growing number of experts and public figures who also take some of advanced AI's most severe risks seriously," said the Center for AI Safety via its official webpage.
