The new iOS 17 is expected to arrive in June. Since this is a major Apple product, numerous rumors about it are already spreading on the internet.
One of the latest speculations about this new iPhone operating system is its ability to turn iOS smartphones into smart home displays when they are locked.
This detail was first shared by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. If you are an iPhone user, then here are the things you can expect from the upcoming iOS 17.
New iOS 17 To Turn iPhones Into Smart Home Display
According to GSM Arena's latest report, Gurman claims that the upcoming iOS 17 will allow locked iPhones to work like smart displays.
This means that when you locked your iOS device and let it sit on its side (horizontal position), then it will show calendar appointments, notifications, weather details, etc.
iOS 17 can do this, thanks to its updated Lock Screen interface. Some rumors stated that the smart home display-like interface of iPhones with iOS 17 will be similar to Echo Show and Google Nest Hub.
As of writing, Apple is trying to make iPhones useful even when they are not actively used. The new iOS 17 Lock Screen interface is among its efforts to make this possible.
