The New Amazon Echo Buds: Comfort and Alexa Hands-Free at an Affordable Price

According to the story by The Verge, the combination of improved comfort and sound, long battery life, and a focus on value makes them a great choice for those looking for a cost-effective way to take Alexa with them from place to place.

Amazon is launching the third iteration of its Echo Buds. The earbuds, which come in at $49.99, feature a semi-open design that eschews the ear tips and noise cancellation of the item's predecessors in favor of improved comfort.

These redesigned earbuds still include hands-free Alexa but lack the noise-canceling qualities in the $139.99 Echo Buds with Active Noise Cancellation. Amazon has gone with a stem-style design on the Echo Buds, which is quite basic with little to no visible branding.

Long-Lasting Battery and Customizable Tap Controls with Echo Buds

Despite their plain looks, Amazon claims the Echo Buds still deliver great audio, a long-lasting battery, and premium features such as multipoint pairing. Inside the buds are 12-millimeter drivers, lasting up to five hours on a single charge. With the included charging case, buyers can get three full battery recharges.

Other features of the new Echo Buds include customizable tap controls, a VIP filter, and a voice detection accelerometer that can accurately detect when buyers are speaking on a call or to Alexa.

Amazon also notes that the device still allows buyers to remain aware of their surroundings due to its semi-open design. To compete directly with the previous generation of Echo Buds, Amazon has priced the new item at just $49.99, a considerable reduction from the older version's $139.99 price tag.

New Echo Buds - Combination of Price and Utility for Alexa Users

Additionally, buyers can get them for even less at the introductory price of $39.99 for a limited time. Amazon hopes the more affordable price and improved comfort of the new Echo Buds will attract new customers.

By combining the familiar open-style design of AirPods or 1More ComfoBuds with Alexa's voice-activated features, they may be able to do it. The Echo Buds are available for pre-order now and will begin shipping on June 7th.

Echo Pop, New Echo Show 5, and Echo Auto: Expanded Availability for Alexa Users

Along with the Echo Buds, Amazon has also released a completely new product - the Echo Pop - along with new versions of the Echo Show 5 and expanded availability of the Echo Auto.

In the end, Echo Buds is a great combination of price and utility for Alexa users. The design changes limit the potential for active noise cancellation, but at least buyers know they can remain aware of their surroundings. And with Alexa's ever-growing list of features, they can still make the most of their audio experience.
