With Diablo IV set to launch on June 6, 2023, Blizzard recently revealed its plans for the action RPG's season system and battle pass pricing. Diablo IV's seasons are meant to add separate and themed content, allowing Blizzard to introduce new concepts, mechanics, characters, and questlines each quarter.
Reaping Rewards with the Premium and Accelerated Passes
According to the story by IGN, with the first season beginning in mid to late July, Diablo IV aims to bring a unique RPG experience separated from the main campaign and filled with rewards, events, and items.
Developers detailed the two battle pass options - the free pass that rewards Smoldering Ashes and two paid battle passes - the Premium Pass (~$10) and Accelerated Pass (~$25).
The Premium Pass includes 63 tiers and two full armor sets for each class. It also comes with weapon and armor cosmetics and a seasonal mount and armor. The Accelerated Pass comes with all rewards from the Premium Pass and immediately unlocks 20 tiers, plus wings of the Creator emote.
An Early Advantage on the Season: Diablo IV Season 1 Final Beta
While progressing through battle pass tiers, players can activate blessings granting bonuses such as experience points, gold, potion extensions, and Obols. Other rewards include aesthetic items and items that affect gameplay, such as new characters and quests.
People who buy something in the cash shop can use them on any character account-wide. More details were revealed in a developer blog by Blizzard.
The first Diablo IV Season 1 is just a month away, but players can join the final beta from May 12th until the 14th. It's a great opportunity to prepare for the upcoming content, especially for the hardcore players who want an early advantage on the season.
Unlock Rewards and Challenges in June with the Premium Pass
With the hype continuing to build, players worldwide look forward to an amazing journey filled with rewards and challenges as soon as the game launches in June, as explained further in an article by Game Rant.
The Premium Pass also includes an Accelerated Pass, a pricier option for those who have started the season late, offering all the same perks as the Premium Pass plus 20 more immediately unlocked tiers and a unique Wings of the Creator emote.
Rotation of Gear in the Cash Shop: Keeping Players Coming Back
Though many rewards unlocked through the season are unique, certain perks - such as powers and items - become part of the base game once the cycle ends. To add to the experience, Blizzard plans a rotating assortment of gear in the Diablo IV cash shop.
However, any items sold are purely cosmetic and accessible to all characters regardless of class. With the first season of Diablo IV currently planned for a mid-to-late July start and the upcoming final beta on May 12-14, fans of this classic RPG can look forward to a steady stream of content and rewards to keep them in the game for years to come.
