Games or apps on the device mostly require a compatible device for it to run in, as it would best optimize and run the game for the owners' experience. This is the same for Innersloth's "Among Us" which is now requiring its existing gamers to run the game only on updated devices, or at least those that meet its compatibility requirements for the app.
This change would take place by next week Monday, and for those who failed to change from their old devices to the latest or compatible one, data and tracking may be lost along the way.
'Among Us' Updates Compatibility for Smart Devices to Continue Gaming
Innersloth, the popular game developer behind the hit social deduction game Among Us, has recently announced an important update regarding device compatibility. Starting May 15, Among Us will only be supported on devices that meet specific OS requirements, ensuring optimal gameplay and performance.
For Android users, Among Us will require devices running Android 6.0 or above, with a minimum of 2.1 GB of RAM.
On the other hand, iPhone users must ensure that their devices are running on iOS 13 or later. Similarly, iPad users should have their devices updated to iPadOS 9.7 or higher to be able to play Among Us without any compatibility issues.
Players using older devices are advised to migrate to supported platforms before the deadline to avoid any loss of progress or data.
Innersloth Advises 'Among Us' Players to Migrate Before May 15
According to the company's release, it will no longer provide support for older devices after May 15, and those who were not able to migrate their data and accounts to updated devices may lose several elements along the way.
The company said that there are hardware limitations for the devices that cannot update their OS, and this may impede their gaming experiences when playing Among Us. Its developers said that new content is continuously evolving which is why the hardware requirements are demanding for newer devices.
'Among Us' and its Significant Presence From Before
The world may have heard of the trending game in 2020, but "Among Us" was released by Innersloth in 2018, with the indie game not seeing significant traction before. However, when the pandemic struck, Among Us proved to be a game worth sharing among friends and family who are away and locked down in their homes.
Innersloth's mafia-themed game where players have to catch the "impostor" among them has been a significant hit, as even streamers have played this game and popularized their wild antics in looking for clues and evidence that would point to the killer.
Since then, the developers added more elements and experiences available in the game for all to experience.
As the May 15 deadline approaches, Among Us players using older devices, should take immediate action to ensure compatibility. Whether it's upgrading their current device or migrating to a supported one, making the necessary arrangements will allow players to continue their interstellar adventures without interruptions.
Innersloth remains committed to delivering a top-notch gaming experience for its fans, promising to enhance more of its games and experiences available to the public.
