Reports are specifically referring to the BYD Blade battery. BYD is considered to be a vertically integrated company since it produces EVs, owns lithium mines, and manufactures batteries.
Aside from this, it also develops software and ADAS for its electric cars. This just shows that BYD covers the entire EV supply chain. Now, BYD boasts its Blade battery as its game-changing tech.

According to Gizmo China's latest report, the BYD Blade battery is expected to be integrated into the entry-level Model Y RWD.
Tech enthusiasts said that the BYD Blade battery adoption of Tesla is a significant development in its Model Y units. They added that this is the first time that the giant EV maker utilized batteries from a Chinese manufacturer.
Of course, BYD will also benefit from Tesla's decision. The Chinese EV battery maker is already the second-largest battery manufacturer.
Its latest collaboration with Tesla will allow it to improve its presence and position in the rising EV industry.
What is BYD Blade Battery?
The BYD Blade battery is an advanced EV battery that provides numerous advantages over traditional lithium-ion batteries.
"Our latest game-changing Blade Battery has passed a series of extreme tests in rigorous conditions, making it one of the world's safest batteries," said BYD via its official website.
It was able to achieve this since it employs lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry.
With its latest partnership with Tesla, BYD could encourage other EV makers to explore using its Blade battery technology in their EV models.
