A new rumor has dropped the ball for the iPad model and its upcoming future, one where claims are saying that these models will no longer support or update to the latest operating system for Apple's tablets. It is an infamous fact that Apple is no longer allowing compatibility for older devices and this is through blocking the update or releasing the final update that gives it the last of the past OS version.
The year 2023 is a time of another round of possibilities for technology, with Apple's WWDC 2023 right around the corner for all its devices, including the iPadOS 17, dropping alongside other devices.
Apple's iPadOS 17: These Devices Are Rumored to Stop Support
French leaker, iPhoneSoft has shared a new rumor for the future of the iPadOS 17, and allegedly, Apple's plans to stop the support for updating to the latest software with these devices. This means that when the new OS drops later this year, it will no longer receive a prompt to update to the new offers from the company.
The iPad devices that are rumored to stop support for iPadOS 17 include the fifth-generation iPad Classic which was released in 2017 and the first-generation iPad Pro which was released in 2015.
The iPad Pro includes both models in the lineup with the 9.7-inch screen and the 12.9-inch device.
Later releases from Apple's iPad lineup that was not mentioned above will continue to update to the upcoming offers from the company come June's announcement.

WWDC 2023: New iPadOS 17 Coming Alongside iOS 17
WWDC 2023 is right around the corner and Apple fans are looking forward to its announcements behind the operating systems for tech, including the likes of the iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, and more.
This latest information corroborates a previous claim from an anonymous leaker which claimed the incompatibility of these Apple devices to the latest drops from the Cupertino giant.
Apple's Compatibility and Support for Older Devices
Another year means an upcoming series of releases from Apple is coming as well, and with WWDC 2023 already confirmed for June and fast approaching, the latest tech is expected from the company. However, this also means that those who are not frequently changing through devices may see gatekeeping from the latest updates for their tech.
In this new rumor, the claims from iPhoneSoft previously had a prediction about Apple stopping the support for the iPhone 6 and iPhone SE 1st generation for the latest iOS in 2021. And when iOS 15 dropped, it announced that these iPhones are no longer available to receive the latest update, correctly predicting those considered vintage by the company.
No device is safe from seeing a stop in the support from Apple for the latest drops of the operating system, particularly for the upcoming software for the iPadOS 17. Good thing that this list is not a long one, with only the first-generation iPad Pros and the iPad Classic's 5th gen being the only ones affected, and others continuing with the upcoming update soon.
