Instagram Allows Up to 5 Links Posted on Your Bio, Mark Zuckerberg Announced—To Oust Linktree?

Instagram is adding a native feature for your links in the bio.

The latest announcement from Meta's founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, now highlights a new feature for Instagram users to showcase as many as five links in their profile's bio. Before, Instagram users, particularly influencers and content creators have limited features regarding their bio on their respective accounts, using third-party services such as Linktree to help display it.

However, with this new update, users no longer need to have Linktree accounts or links to direct them to another landing page that would take them to several websites they are visiting.

Mark Zuckerberg announced via his Broadcast Channel, a.k.a. the Meta Channel (only accessible via mobile and if following the CEO), that Instagram users may put up to 5 links on their bio. He further claims that this feature was among the top requests by Instagram account owners a lot in the past, with the company finally fulfilling its end.

The Meta CEO did not say much about how it works or if it is available to all users in the world, but it is worth checking out for those who add links to their bio for more information.

Instagram's latest features provide a way for users to set up their bios with links, especially with regards to the latest uploads talking about visiting several websites for more information.

Linktree, Other Third-Party Services No Longer Required

Previously, Instagram users resort to using third-party apps or services that help set up links on their behalf, using platforms like Linktree to hold more links that they cannot put on their profile on one page. With this new update from Meta, Instagram is cutting out the middleman for the job, taking on the responsibility of holding your links for you for all showcases to your followers.

Instagram and its Latest Features from Meta

Instagram is best known for being the trendy multimedia app which is owned by Meta (formerly Facebook), and one of the most dreaded features it will see is ads present on search results for users. Searching for different people, accounts, or personalities on Instagram would have users seeing several promotional contents, and opening up a new advertisement program for interested organizations or individuals.

One of the most interesting takes of Instagram in connecting personalities and creators on the platform is the Broadcast Channels, which are similar to what Telegram offers for its subscribers. It helps people get direct access to information from their preferred influencer that they follow, getting regular updates and the latest scoop from their announcements.

The same Broadcast Channels were used by Zuckerberg to relay the latest feature for Instagram users who wants to add links in their bio that leads them to videos, websites, fundraising projects, and more. However, Instagram has set a limit of up to 5 links only per bio and account, which means that those who want more and use third-party clients for it, may opt to stick with what they have.
