Nissan Arizon Electric SUV Set for Global Debut; Designed to Be ‘Multifunctional Partner’ for Drivers

It's somewhat taken out of a sci-fi book.

Nissan has revealed the newest concept for the all-electric Arizon SUV at Auto Shanghai 2023. The largest car trade show also allowed the Chinese team to showcase how it became a "multifunctional partner" for the drivers.

Nissan Arizon also shares the CMF-EV platform with previous models such as Renault Megane and Nissan Ariya. While the futuristic design and features of the car are teased, the powertrain specs are not mentioned during the event.

When the EV industry boomed over the past years, many traditional car brands took advantage of the situation by exploring all-electric vehicles.

Entering the trend did so much to other automakers, which reaped the fruits of the production later. Tesla, for instance, has become a top seller of EVs even before the pandemic came.

When Nissan successfully pioneered LEAF more than a decade ago, the company quickly looked forward to what it could offer to car enthusiasts.

That's the time when it decided to unveil Ariya as its second EV in 2020. It took the Japanese firm a decade before it released a modern EV that would suit the present era. Delays plagued the shipment for the 2023 Ariya model and it was only in 2022 that it became available at $43,190.

Nissan Arizon Electric SUV is the Next Big Thing

To improve its EV strategy, Nissan has changed its plans and concluded that 19 all-electric models are slated to be launched by 20230. Previously, it said that only 15 cars would be released.

Just recently, Nissan has featured new concepts for its electric SUV. According to Electrek, the first EV, dubbed Max-Out, is more like a sports car that was introduced during the Nissan Futures event.

The second model is the Arizon electric SUV which is said to be a "multifunctional partner" for Chinese drivers.

If you look closely at its exterior design, its human-centric cabin entails that it's a sci-fi vehicle that we see in the movies. The futuristic approach to this model gives it a more pronounced design on its rear pillar, not to mention the absence of door handles that are pretty standard for a car.

Nissan mentions that the concept SUV boasts a low center of gravity. It's barely noticeable from the pictures, yet it is what it is, according to the company.

To make it more appealing to techies, the Arizon concept boasts Eporo, a special virtual assistant that passengers can use if they have questions about weather, time, and other stuff.

What's better about this Nissan EV is the adjustable illumination that automatically changes based on the user's preferences. The driver can also personalize the interaction through intuitive modes such as relaxation and surprise.

With a great demand for EVs in the Chinese market, Nissan COO Ashwani Gupta said that the company is gearing up to improve the electrification and advanced sustainability in the region, per Motor1.com.
