OpenAI's GPT-5, the rumored successor of the GPT-4, made huge headlines after numerous speculations about its arrival appeared.
Since this alleged AI model concerns many tech experts and consumers, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman decided to answer their questions.
The tech executive confirmed they are not working on the alleged GPT-5.
Altman shared this detail at an MIT event. He said they are "not and won't for some time"workingk on a more advanced AI model than GPT-4.

He said an earlier version of the letter claimed that OpenAI is already training GPT-5. But, since they are not developing this AI, the OpenAI CEO noted that this idea was "sort of silly."
He also said that the open letter is missing critical parts, such as the specific area OpenAI and other AI companies need to pause.
Instead of working on the rumored GPT-5, Sam Altman announced they are developing updates and upgrades for the existing GPT-4.
"We are doing other things on top of GPT-4 that I think have all sorts of safety issues that are important to address and were totally left out of the letter," explained Altman.
Why GPT-5 is Concerning
Previously, numerous reports claimed that the alleged GPT-5 would be indistinguishable from a human once it is released.
For some people, this advanced technology is quite exciting. However, the open letter, which more than 1,000 seasoned veterans signed in the AI field, said that this kind of technology is alarming.
In their document, they said that AI systems that have human-competitive intelligence could have risks to humanity and society.
One of the most concerning risks, they claim, is the loss of control of civilization. If you want to learn more about their remarks, you can visit Digital Trends for more details.
