Brace yourselves for a new era of Twitter, as it is now piloting a program under its Monetization suite that centers on Subscriptions, one that will help maximize content creators' profits on the platform. This will mostly center on their Twitter Blue subscription as well, utilizing exclusive features like long-form tweets, videos, and other forms of content.
One of the most significant promises here is from Elon Musk, who claims that Twitter will not receive anything for the first 12 months of the program and creators get to keep all that is due to them.
Twitter Subscriptions to Maximize Creator Monetization on the Platform
The new Twitter Subscriptions program is now available on the short-word social media platform, centering on a new way for creators to earn and maximize their growth. It will allow fans and supporters to subscribe to their favorite personalities on the platform, which will, in turn, add to their revenues and earnings on Twitter.
Chief Tweet is now inviting content creators to utilize these features, centering on the "Monetization" tab found on their profiles to apply for this program.
Musk also said that users can earn and get revenue from Subscriptions by utilizing Twitter Blue features including long-form tweets and hours-long videos uploaded online.
Elon Musk Claims Twitter Won't Charge Creators For Now
In a follow-up tweet, the Twitter CEO also explained that the social media will not earn or receive any of the Subscription revenue for the first 12 months of the program. This means that 70 percent of all earnings will go directly to content creators, and the remaining 30 percent will go to the iOS and Android app stores.
For the web users and subscribers, creators will get 92 percent of the revenue earned.
After a year, the company will add a small amount to charge creators and the app store fees would drop to 15 percent only.
Twitter 2.0's New Offers and Features
The significant focus on Twitter's subscription-based features under Twitter Blue centers on giving people the premium features of the app, all under the revamped platform called Twitter 2.0. One of the latest features under the Blue subscription platform is the fewer ads to see on the platform, with Twitter removing half as much compared to the regular free version.
It is also focusing on its verification checkmarks under the subscription, and one of the most recent changes in the platform is the labels on companies and entities present here. There was one controversial labeling issue with NPR, where Twitter branded them as a " US state-affiliated media," which it removed and changed to "Government-funded."
Mr. Tweet previously promised that they will feature more experiences for creators to thrive on Twitter, and this is one of the efforts to help them earn on the platform. With the new Subscriptions, it will allow fans and followers to boost more of their earnings via Twitter, adding more to their revenue and growth in the social media.
