ASUS launches the ROG Phone 7 today, and it delivers on the company's promise of the latest and most capable device in gaming present in the world. The company did not let the fans and gamers wait long for the ROG Phone 7, as it confirmed its existence towards the end of March, showcasing its update to its flagship smartphone lineup.
ASUS ROG Phone 7 Launches: Smartphone, Gaming Features
The latest launch event from ASUS delivers the global availability of its most anticipated smartphone lineup, the ROG Phone 7, with its heavy focus on gaming.
There are two variants available, one is the ROG Phone 7 base release, and the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.
The smartphone gaming lineup features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, paired with 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM, 512 GB UFS 4.0 ROM, 165 Hz Samsung AMOLED display, GameCool 7 thermal system, and a tuned speaker system in collaboration with Dirac.
While its display already features a significant 165 Hz refresh rate, ROG Phone 7 Ultimate takes it up a notch with ASUS' proprietary ROG Vision display matrix on the rear panel of the device with X Vision and more.
The gaming smartphones also feature AI-powered and customizable AirTrigger haptic buttons to deliver an edge in playing games. With Snapdragon Elite Gaming features available, the ROG Phone 7 also offers real-time hardware-accelerated ray-tracing.
It also features the Qualcomm Adreno 740 GPU to improve graphics in the device's processes.
ASUS also upgraded the rear-attachable fans, with the AeroActive Cooler 7 featuring larger fans that are directed to the CPU for optimum cooling, also bringing a subwoofer that unlocks 2.1 channel sound. It comes as an add-on purchase if you want to splurge on features.
The ROG Phone 7's cameras also feature a 50MP main rear camera, 13MP ultra-wide angled lens, and a 5MP macro lens. The selfie camera features 32MP.
Is the new ASUS ROG Phone 7 Worth It?
With all that said, ASUS may have outdone themselves with this smartphone release and brought significant upgrades since the ROG Phone 6 and the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate.
It will be available in the US in Q2 but is already available for pre-order in Europe, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. ASUS ROG Phone 7's base variant is available for $1,104 (999 Euros) while the Ultimate variant sells for $1,546 (1,399 Euros).
ASUS's Republic of Gamers
Talking about the renowned ROG or Republic of Gamers, ASUS has put in its massive efforts to bring the public an edge over widely available gaming devices that center on laptops, PC hardware, and smartphone under one name. There is something about ROG that captures some of the top-tier gaming devices in the tech industry, the image ASUS tried to maintain.
The ROG department of ASUS also collaborated with IKEA to bring gaming furniture and accessories to the public, one that completes the setup in one's room or home.
The world of smartphone gaming may be in decline as most companies no longer give massive focus on delivering devices mainly focused on it, but not with the ASUS ROG Phone. The latest there is to the lineup gives a significant release in the present, with its latest capabilities keeping the smartphone gaming industry alive.
