Google has recently announced in its blog post the addition of 800 new live TV channels, along with the integration of popular streaming services Plex, Tubi, and Haystack News. The new feature was initially launched with the integration of Pluto TV, which added 300 live TV channels to Google TV.

Live Tab and Premium Tab Side-by-Side on Google TV

Google made its TV product segmented, by putting the right service on a specific tab that will help users navigate the app better and lead them to their preferred section.

In addition to the Live tab, Google TV now features a Premium tab for users who subscribe to paid streaming services like YouTube TV and Sling TV. These services offer access to additional live TV channels, as well as on-demand content and other features.

Streaming in the Present Age of the Internet

Google is one of the companies which center on delivering a streaming experience for users with its massive platforms, not limited to YouTube. It joins the many streaming companies in the present, with Netflix, Disney+, Roku, Apple TV+, and more.

Like Google TV, other companies provide live TV streaming access including Hulu+ and DirecTV.

Google TV, which was launched in 2010, is a smart TV OS with a streaming platform that combines live TV, on-demand content, and streaming services in a single interface. It remains a massive drive from Google towards streaming, giving TV users a more familiar interface that is with Android capabilities, to bring the experience to more users.

Google TV is available on a variety of devices, including Chromecast with Google TV, select Android TV devices, and smart TVs from various manufacturers. The platform is free to use, with paid subscription services available for those who want access to additional content and features.

The addition of 800 new live TV channels and popular streaming services like Plex, Tubi, and Haystack News is a significant expansion of Google TV's offerings. With the new Live tab and Premium tab, users have even more options for finding and watching their favorite shows and channels.
