Just a few years ago, subscription payments were only commonly used with streaming services and other online products, but now, they are part of nearly every business model. If a business doesn't have a subscription model, they're trying to create one. Subscriptions make revenue predictions much more accurate and help guarantee a certain level of money coming in on a regular basis. The rise in popularity of subscription models is undeniable, in fact, by 2025, the subscription economy is expected to reach a value of $1.5 trillion.
Consumers are getting used to subscription models popping up regularly; they can now be found in everything from health supplement businesses to car features like GPS. On the business side, however, they can be complex to execute. Subscription models require a sophisticated payment infrastructure that requires back-end technical programming, making the end goal hard to reach for many businesses - until now.
Sami Bekrar, a talented software engineer and computer science expert, co-founded Frank, a no-code billing tool for subscription models that makes it easier for businesses to tap into the benefits of offering subscriptions. Sami noticed that many startups and established businesses struggled with the technical lift required to enable subscription pricing and billing capabilities, so he created Frank.
Frank connects pricing, billing, and payment features that many other tools neglected to thread together. With subscription models, it's crucial that all these components can "talk to" and gather data from one another, so instead of keeping them in silos, Frank brings them to the same platform. Even further, Frank uses data science and detailed analytical algorithms to help its clients determine the best price points for their subscriptions, making it even easier to get started on this new business model.
Able to integrate with popular tools like Hubspot, Salesforce, and Stripe, Frank offers businesses a holistic approach to subscriptions. Its build process includes plans, add-ons, payment methods, and recurring billing functions. Well-established as a technical resource, Sami decided to challenge himself by building a tool that even the most non-technical person could use, setting Frank apart from other similar platforms on the market.
Prior to this endeavor, Sami was a lead software engineer at Heywear. He was responsible for analyzing, designing, and supervising the development of the company's software systems, so he's no stranger to building new platforms and features. He also spent nearly 3 years at SkyLights Inc., working his way up from a software intern to a data engineer after graduating from ENSEEIHT with a degree in mathematics and computer science.
Practically born to work with technology, Sami was fortunate enough to have an IT engineer for a father, granting him access to new technologies and a computer much earlier than his peers. His father got him a computer and Sami spent hours learning to code, create products, and even hack other platforms. Curious and driven, he began fixing computers for friends and family and jumped onto a software engineering path in school as early as possible.
Forging ahead as an entrepreneur isn't always easy, but under Sami's leadership, Frank has secured its first customers and it's currently turning its released prototype into a functional, value-add product that is disrupting the growing subscriptions sector. As much as he enjoys creating new platforms, his passion comes through when he builds teams and organizations, and Frank has allowed him to flex those skills as well.
