Nintendo Switch Online to Add an N64 Pokemon Game

As per a report by Nintendo Life, Switch Online subscribers are in for a treat next week. One of the most beloved N64 classics is now on its way to the gaming subscription service of Nintendo.

The arena battle game, "Pokémon Stadium," first saw the light of day more than two decades ago. And now, Switch users may get their hands on it starting April 12 as it arrives in the N64 library of Switch Online.

The classical game lets players battle solo with at least six Pokèmons in various tournaments for the Stadium Mode, apart from the multiplayer option.

It also comes with other modes like "Free Battle" and "Gym Leader Castle." Besides these options, it also has something for casual gaming sessions thanks to its mini-game, according to The Gamer.

Nintendo Life notes in its report that "Pokemon Stadium" players may choose from the "original 151 Pokémon," which appeared in classic titles like "Pokémon Blue Version," "Pokémon Red Version," and "Pokémon Yellow Version."

Only Available on Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack

It is worth mentioning, though, that the "Pokémon Stadium" will only be available to members or subscribers of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, which offers other N64 games as well.

Nintendo says that the Expansion Pack offers N64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis gaming titles. Its subscribers may check out legendary classics like "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time," "Star Fox 64," and "Mario Kart."

Game Boy classics are also available, including "Super Mario Advance 4," Super Mario Bros. 3," and "The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap." Not to mention that Sega offerings like "Golden Axe" and "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" are also part of the game library.

Switch Online added the highly popular original "Pokémon Snap" to service last June 2022. And this time, another classical N64 game is arriving, the "Pokémon Stadium." Starting on April 12, which is several days from now, it will be available on the gaming subscription service.

If you are currently subscribed to the base tier of Switch Online, you have to upgrade to the Expansion Pack tier to get your hands on these legendary classics.
