Famous Swiss brand, Audemars Piguet, is doing one for the public, extending its customer care and assistance, as well as understanding what it is like to own a luxury watch and be the target of mugging. In Bloomberg's report, this is known as the "AP service guarantee," and it would replace luxury watches when it is stolen or damaged due to a robbery incident.

In an interview with chief executive François-Henry Bennahmias, he said that "We listen to our clients, and we have to look also at what's going on in the world right now. We have important cities in Europe and in the US that are not as safe anymore."

The company aims to extend its guarantees for the new owners, especially that there have been rising incidents of watch-related crimes in the world.

Luxury Watch Industry: Now Back in Business

Brands like Audemars Piguet, Patek Phillipe, and Rolex, among others in the luxury watch industry, are now back in business and seem like they never left. These are the brands that did not opt to sell their watches to the internet, mainly centering on having people come to their stores or retailers to purchase their preferred pieces.

The COVID era has been a significant test for these brands, as they refused to bring their luxury items to the public via the internet, despite many transitioning.

However, there are still carriers or retailers which brought their watches for online purchase, with the likes of Avi & Co. delivering a preferred timepiece for a certain customer. This also includes the guarantee of a contactless, premium, and safe transaction, from buying the watch down to its delivery, as there are multiple scams present on the internet.

Audemars Piguet is one of the best-known brands in the Swiss luxury watch markets, and since the thieves are well-versed on which are the expensive or valuable ones, the company had to up its game. It is now giving a guarantee for all watches from 2022 to 2023, with a safety net for two years for replacement, should they be stolen or damaged by thieves.
