ChatGPT User Claims AI Chatbot Saves His Dog After Diagnosing Symptoms

Meet the ChatGPT user whose furry best friend's life was allegedly saved.

ChatGPT, the highly popular AI chatbot of Open AI, allegedly saved a dog after diagnosing its symptoms, at least according to the owner of the furry pet.

After a vet visit did nothing to improve the condition of his furry best friend, the pet owner decided to consult an AI chatbot that runs on the all-new GPT-4.

And it turns out to be a worthwhile experience.

ChatGPT User Claims AI Chatbot Saves His Do

OpenAI's ChatGPT is taking the world by storm. Its users are now taking advantage of the AI tool to guide them in content creation, research, and even coding.

But this time, the chatbot takes the shimmer of the spotlight in a heartwarming story of a dog, which is considered by many as a man's best friend.

A ChatGPT user took to Twitter to share how the AI chatbot helped him save the life of his furry friend.

According to Business Insider, the Twitter user, Cooper, did what most pet owners would do when their dogs are feeling under the weather. He initially brought the doggo to a veterinarian.

To be fair, the dog named Sassy felt better after visiting the vet. The doctor diagnosed the border collie with a tick-borne disease. And during the visit, she got her treatment.

But after a few days of visiting the vet, the condition got even worse than before. So Cooper went on to go back to the doctor. The pet owner said that "the vet had no clue what it could be" after running tests that checked for any tick-borne related diseases. Instead, he narrates that it "was getting worse and worse."

With that, the Twitter user says the vet suggested that they just "wait and see what happens." He thought to himself that it was not an "acceptable answer."

So here's where ChatGPT entered the picture. It struck him that "medical diagnostics seemed like the sort of thing GPT4 could potentially be really good at." With that in mind, he proceeded to consult the AI-powered chatbot, detailing the situation of his furry best friend.

GPT-4 Allegedly Diagnose Symptoms

The AI-powered tool, ChatGPT, gave a disclaimer to Cooper saying that "[I am] not a veterinarian." It was in response to his query wherein he described the condition of his dog, which was grappling with a high fever.

He then inputted the two sets of blood work from his latest vet visit.

The chatbot suggested that Sassy might be experiencing various conditions, such as immune-mediated hemolytic anemia or IMHA.

Vet Corroborates ChatGPT Diagnosis

Cooper did not stop there. He consulted another vet, and his dog underwent various tests. After this, the doctor confirmed that the ChatGPT AI chatbot got it right.

The pet owner says that Sassy is now feeling much better.
