Panera Taps-in Amazon One's Contactless Payments Power
Panera announced via its press release that it recently partnered with Amazon One to deliver a new experience in its retail stores, particularly where it is available. This is the contactless payment for checkouts, one where people would no longer have to hand their cash, cards, or smartphones to complete their purchases.
This also means that if they forgot their wallets and smartphones, there would not be any problems in buying their favorite pastries and other offered by Panera Bread.
With a swipe of one's palm over the scanner, their payment will be accepted and orders be completed, with Amazon One fulfilling the service.

According to CNET, this is made available to MyPanera members, its exclusive loyalty program that provides another perk for its users apart from earning points. Amazon One's Contactless Payments
Amazon, who mainly delivered an e-commerce platform and its web services to clients, introduced a significant development for the tech industry amidst the pandemic, where people would not need to pay cash or hand in their cards to avoid infection.
This is called the Amazon One, and it is also known for its other capabilities, the 'Just Walk Out' technology which allows people to come and go as they please, without the need to queue for checkout. The technology was made available to Whole Foods grocery stores and Amazon Fresh locations nationwide and proved to be a significant development since.
Users only need to register their palm biometrics to enable them to link their preferred payment methods and use their hands for the transactions in the cashier-less stores.
However, in this recent partnership between Amazon One and Panera, the contactless payment method is not limited to only Amazon stores but is open to partnering with different companies. The cashier-less payment and Amazon One feature will help speed up checkout better, in getting that bread that one would purchase via Panera.
