TikTok's Ban in the US
In the wake of the growing data concerns on the famous Chinese-owned social media platform, there have been several bans on TikTok that impede its operations in certain countries. One of these countries is the United States, one of its largest markets, and five other nations also imposed a ban against them including The United Kingdom, India, Australia, Canada, and Taiwan.
There were reports and claims by the government that TikTok supplies data to ByteDance, which has alleged links to the Chinese government which conduct espionage on millions of users under the app.
However, the Chinese government already spoke up regarding this issue, saying that reviews or evaluations of TikTok should be treated fairly, amidst these bans.
The growing unrest of the government regarding TikTok is a known fact for all, and it has been dividing the nation on whether to allow the app to continue its operations here in the US.
Still, nothing is set in stone and the US government is open to hearing its side on the hearing set to evaluate the platform, with the TikTok CEO to reveal his plans to solve the issue and avoid the nationwide ban.
