Hyundai's new EV charging robot will soon be demonstrated.

However, the one it showed on its official YouTube channel was just CGI. "Auto Charging #Robot (ACR) is a solution that relieves inconvenience caused by heavy connectors of EVs," said Hyundai Motor Group via its YouTube post.

According to Inside EVs' latest report, Hyundai will officially display its new ACR at the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show, which will be held at its exhibition booth.

The automaker will demonstrate its EV charging robot from Mar. 31 until Apr. 9.
Hyundai explained that ACR is a one-arm machine that can communicate with EVs. It can automatically open the charging port, as well as plug the charger.
After charging, ACR will also remove the charger and close the EV's charging port.
The ACR can do this efficiently, thanks to its advanced 3D camera-based artificial intelligence algorithm.
Hyundai claims that ACR is very reliable in all environments; regardless of weather, charging location, and possible obstacles.
Since ACR's dustproof grade is IP65, it can't easily be damaged by outside forces.
Hyundai to Help EV Drivers in the Future
Hyundai Motor Group has high hopes for its advanced EV charging robot. The Korean carmaker said that ACR will support EV drivers in the future.
Once it is widely available, Hyundai believes ACR can overcome accessibility problems and inconveniences that EV drivers experience, especially in dark charging areas.
This means that Hyundai's ACR will allow EV drivers to power up their vehicles in any area, such as parking lots.
As of writing, Hyundai hasn't confirmed ACR's official launch date.
But, once it is displayed in the upcoming Seoul Mobility Show, there's a chance that the automaker will provide an update.
Aside from ACR, Hyundai Motor Group is also working on other EV innovations. Recently, the new partnership between Hyundai and Electrum led to a new EV home charging system.
The Hyundai-Kia collaboration also released a new software update that can prevent the alarming TikTok theft challenges.
