The latest feature on Twitter is the Bookmark Counter which lets a user or account owner know how much people saved their tweets in its metrics. This feature is first available on the iOS platform that allows users to learn about their statistics on the platform, similar to how the company shows its users their likes, retweets, and replies.
The Bookmarks on Twitter allow people to save tweets without having the need to send them to themselves or friends, for their viewing later on.
Twitter Bookmark Counter is Now Available on iOS
Twitter announced that a new feature that accounts for how many times a specific tweet was bookmarked is now available on the iOS version of the app. The Bookmark Counter serves as an additional way to know one's statistics on the platform, alongside the regular likes, retweets, replies, and metrics on one tweet.
The data will be provided by the Twitter team, and it will expand more to other platforms like the Android and Web versions of social media.
All tweets that have been bookmarked would have the said counter available, says Twitter, and this information will be available for the public to know the specific number per tweet.
Twitter Bookmarks Remain Private to Owners
Twitter then added that Bookmarks will remain private to the tweet owners, and would not provide information as to a specific account or person who has saved their publication on the social media. This centers on privacy and security, as there may be an issue with stalking an account that bookmarked a certain tweet online.
Twitter 2.0's New Features
The current state of Twitter now is still in a rut, as the company has fewer employees to manage its day-to-day, as evidenced by the recent outage which it experienced. There are experts and analyst that claims Twitter is struggling under Elon Musk's leadership with his many changes to the platform, now in the face of bankruptcy.
Despite this information, Twitter still pushes for new features under Twitter 2.0, to bring the latest experiences of the short-word social media to the public. One of the most significant upcoming changes on the platform is it is going open-sourced, with Chief Tweet claiming that developers will be disappointed once it arrives.
Additionally, subscribers of the Twitter Blue feature mostly get the latest and advanced features on the platform including the edit tweets and long-form format of the social media. This latest release from the company may seem minor, but it serves as a helpful tool for influencers and other users to the traction of their tweets, to add to the available stats already.
