The upcoming budget smartphone from the internet company was recently leaked, and images of the Google Pixel 7a Prototype appeared on eBay from Athens, Greece. The seller claimed that this is one of the earliest prototypes in the market, and it is one of a kind, featuring the same looks as the Pixel 7 devices, but in a different color finish and logo.
This leak is early by around three to four months, as the Pixel 7a is expected by the industry by June to be unveiled on Google's I/O 2023.
Google Pixel 7a Prototype Appears on eBay
A sold listing on eBay claims that it was the Google Pixel 7a prototype which will arrive soon this year, with the internet company soon releasing it to the company. In terms of looks and design, the Pixel 7a shows significant similarities to the Pixel 7's body, with the curvy edges, down to the camera layout in the rear, and its minimalist design from Google.
This was posted on eBay UK by a seller who claims they are located in Athens, Greece.
It is unknown how the device that would most likely be developed in the United States ended up in Greece.
According to 9to5 Google, the device does not start, and it only opens up to the "fastboot" mode where the information seen on the device brings only its technical specifications.
This Pixel 7a features 8GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of storage. Additionally, an SKU of GHL1X. appeared on the barcode.
Pixel 7a Prototype Leaks Months Ahead
The previous Pixel budget smartphones with the "a" suffix were leaked months ahead of its unveiling and launch dates, and this may be the same case as Google's Pixel 7a. Still, it is important to take this leak with a grain of salt, especially as this remains to be unconfirmed by the company.
Google's Pixel Smartphones
The current smartphone from Google now is the Pixel 7 and it presents the upgraded SoC from the company, the Tensor G2, which delivers the performance it needs to run Android and other features present. After the main release of its smartphone comes the mid-range, a.k.a. the budget device, expected by the public to be the Pixel 7a.
There are already many claims regarding the availability of this device, and the hands-on video published online claimed that the new smartphone will bring a 90Hz of refresh rate for its screens, among its many features.
This was the same case with Google's Pixel 6 and Pixel 6a release, with the budget smartphone coming during its midway development of the new smartphone, coming soon with the Pixel 8.
The Pixel 7a will be significantly better than the Pixel 6a, as this is the upgraded version of the budget smartphone from Google. The recent leak confirms that it is indeed the next device from the company, but the problem is that it does not start, so there are no ways of verifying its legitimacy but to believe what the seller claimed in its description.
