Introducing Ply: the No-Code Contextual Tool for App Personalization

Ply, a no-code customization platform, recently launched a next-gen tool that allows users to create and add features inside or on top of their apps. This enables companies to cost-effectively meet their unique workspace needs without purchasing a whole new app just to utilize selected functionalities. Not only does this empower employees to maximize the full potential of their existing apps, but it also allows them to achieve so much while spending less time and expenses.

Co-Founded by CEO Yaniv Tross, COO Zohar Sakal, and CTO Guy Schlider, the team at Ply saw the abundance of no-code tools and their underutilization. They knew that to leverage no code to its full advantage, users should customize the apps they are already using instead of building a new tool. This is the void that Ply fills - it's faster, easier to edit, easier to change, and most importantly, easier to share in an organization for a seamless, collaborative experience. What's more, Ply's focus is where users already are so they don't have to switch apps and contexts just to perform a task.

"If there's an app that does what you wanted to do, it's always better than building custom. It's faster, it will work better, and it will take care of the edge cases better. You don't have to build a new Zendesk. It's a good thing." says Yaniv. "That's our approach in general. We think 80% of what you need software to do, you'll find an app that does it amazingly. But for the rest of the 20% where your organization is a bit different than everything else, then that's where Ply comes in. So instead of you building yet another tool with all the functionality that's already out there, just take the tool that you already use and add the missing pieces."

How does Ply work?

Getting started with Ply is a simple process that begins with users clicking on the Ply extension in their browser. From there, they can create a new add-on, connect an account, and select an element or context, such as a button in messages. They can then design the button and save their progress before opening the builder.

Within the builder, users will see three main steps. The first step is Interfaces, where they can add elements right into the workflow and map data in a two-way street, allowing for input and output. The second step is Integrations, which offers pre-made actions in different applications. The third step is Helpers, which offers users a range of tools to manipulate data, including table functions, text functions, email template builders, and translation tools, among others.

Once a feature is built, users can easily share it with their team, within the organization. With Ply, users can streamline their workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and maximize their productivity, all without needing to learn to code or switch to new apps.

Add-Ons and more

Ply offers users the ability to create multiple types of features. The first type is add-ons, which are added functions that enhance existing applications. Users can create custom add-ons to fit their unique needs and streamline their workflow within the app.

The second type is tools, which are available anywhere within a command bar. This feature is designed to be accessible and convenient for users, allowing them to perform actions quickly and efficiently, without having to navigate to a specific app or menu.

Finally, Ply's upcoming feature is custom notifications, which will provide users with actionable items. This feature will allow users to create notifications that are customized to their needs and provide specific actions for the recipient to take.

With these features, Ply offers users a wide range of customization options, enabling them to create solutions tailored to their business requirements and improve their productivity.
