According to the story by Man of Many, the company recently lifted the curtains off its Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition, which promises to offer a surprisingly modern experience compared to most other AR glasses currently on the market.
After numerous steps towards the development of smart glasses, such as Google Glass, Microsoft HoloLens, Snapchat's Spectacles, and even Apple's rumored AR glasses, Xiaomi is aiming to make augmented reality glasses more mainstream and widely available by introducing the offshoot product - the Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition.
Lightweight and Comfortable: The Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition
Revealed at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, this concept AR glasses from the Chinese tech giant come packed with many features and specifications sure to spark excitement among tech buffs.
The Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition is lightweight and comfortable to wear, weighing only 126 grams, and has lightweight materials such as magnesium-lithium alloy and carbon fiber parts.
Wirelessly Powered: Xiaomi's AR Glasses are Free from Cords and Wires
Xiaomi has pushed the boundaries of design to come up with ordinary-looking glasses that are tech-savvy. These glasses are battery-powered, and the company has developed a silicon-oxygen anode battery.
No charging cords mean the glasses remain completely wire-free. The glasses use a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 chip and Xiaomi's low-latency communication link. Mi released a video regarding the AR Glass on YouTube.
Xiaomi Announces MWC 2023 for AR Glasses with Low Latency and Retina-level Displays
This means that users can link up their AR glasses with a Xiaomi 13 phone or another Snapdragon Spaces-ready device with as low as 3ms latency, comparable to a wired solution. Mi explained more information regarding the MWC 2023 on its website.
They also support gesture control, using the onboard low power-usage AON camera. Xiaomi doesn't believe in compromising when it comes to displays, and that shows through with their Retina-level displays with a pixel density of 58, making pixels indiscernible.

Additionally, the front lenses are electrochromic and dim automatically, making the visuals more immersive. Finally, these AR glasses come in titanium with three different nosepieces, although any official price and availability have yet to be announced.
