Google One is pushing to bolster its security features and offer subscribers more comprehensive protection. In addition to making its virtual private network (VPN) available to all members, regardless of the plan size, Google is introducing a dark web report to help keep track of one's personal information.
Adding an Extra Layer of Security with Google One VPN Across All Plans
According to the story by Engadget, as Google One membership expands, so do the security features available to subscribers. Last October, Google One began offering a virtual private network (VPN) to those on plans with at least 2TB of storage.
The company is taking that further by making the VPN available across all plans, including its basic 100GB storage option. The VPN ensures that members' internet activity is kept out of reach of hackers, network operators, and other individuals seeking access.
Protecting Against ID Theft with Dark Web Reports on Google One
Google One is also introducing another security bonus: dark web reports. Starting over the next few weeks, Google One subscribers in the US will have access to a monitoring profile in which they can input personal details, such as their name, address, email, phone number, and Social Security Number, to see if they have been compromised in a data breach.
On the off-chance that their information is flagged in the dark web report, Google will send an alert and suggest measures to protect themselves against ID theft, such as reporting their Social Security number as stolen.
Unlock the Magic Eraser Feature with Google One Subscription
Security features aren't the only addition Google One is rolling out. The company announced in February that subscribers to the service can now access the Magic Eraser feature in Google Photos.
Before then, the feature was exclusive to Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 devices, so this is a major win for Google One members who want to downsize their photos or erase objects from their images with the tap of a button.
Google One Offers Comprehensive Security Features for Just $2 a Month
Google One is packing more and more features into its membership offerings, from dark web reports to Magic Eraser, that subscribers can take advantage of.
With this suite of security options, plus 100GB of storage for just $2 a month, as explained further in an article by Mac Rumors, Google One is positioning itself as an essential membership for individuals looking to maximize their online security.

The increase in security isn't the only change for subscribers, either; Google is also rolling out some other helpful features. One is the Magic Eraser tool for Google Photos, first available on Pixel 6 and 7 devices but now offered to all Google One users.
This can help refine photos to perfection, making it easier than ever to create amazing memories. Google One provides its users the perfect opportunities to protect their online activity and make the most of their memories.
