Your Wizarding journey and forging your path in this world may have to wait, as Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Studios announced the latest release date for "Hogwarts Legacy" to arrive on last-gen consoles. While PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and PC gamers already enjoyed what it has to offer, PS4 and Xbox One users would have to wait a little longer.
Still, this is inevitably longer for the handheld console from Nintendo, the Switch, which will receive a copy of the game by July, the farthest among its releases.
'Hogwarts Legacy' Release Date Announced by Warner, Avalanche
"Hogwarts Legacy's" Twitter page announced somber news to the world, kind of like casting the "Patrificus Totalus" petrification spell to the public, as it claimed it needs more time to develop the version for the last-gen consoles in the market.
They also announced a new release date for "Hogwarts Legacy" on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it would soon arrive by May 5.
In a surprising turn of events, the game makers said that it is now working to develop this experience for older consoles, despite already having an available version for the modern-generation ones.
Did it Move the Supposed Release Date for Last-Gen Consoles?
Initially, "Hogwarts Legacy's" website and platforms where gamers may get their games like the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and more, claimed that PS4 and Xbox One consoles will get the game by April 4.
Now, it claims that this game would arrive by May 5, which is a month and a day later than its supposed release.
The team explained that it needs more time to develop this for older consoles claiming that it aims to develop the "best possible experience" for the public, particularly for owners of the older-gen platforms.
In other news, Nintendo Switch's release date remains unchanged.
'Hogwarts Legacy' and its Spellbinding Gameplay
Fans of the "Harry Potter" book and movie franchise are given a chance to experience Hogwarts firsthand, but it is through a journey of a supposed special teenager with gifts yet to be discovered. "Hogwarts Legacy" serves as an earlier look at the famous School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, first released on modern-generation consoles and PCs last February 10.
Warner Bros. and Avalanche Studios gave the world a chance to be their own hero in this game, as it does not follow the canon story of The Boy Who Lived, as written in the books.
It is also a successful one in the market, as WB Games claimed that this is the largest release in its studio's history, now teasing a franchise that will follow this title.
The Wizarding World gets an AAA-rated game with "Hogwarts Legacy" that further lets the public experience what it is like to get their wands, get sorted to their preferred Houses, and explore the iconic Hogwarts.
However, gamers of the last-gen who have not yet upgraded to the latest consoles would have to wait, as it is coming in early May for them to experience.
