Recently, some Google Pixel Watch users noticed that their smartwatches have a delayed alarm set. When this happens, it might make them wake up later than expected, especially if they have projects to submit or tasks to deliver on time at work or school.
The unusual bug has been startling many users and others think that Reddit is the best place to raise their concerns.
Google Pixel Watch Bug Double-Sets Alarm
Being absent from work with a valid reason is just fine, but going late at work when you missed your clock's alarm could be worse if you have appointments in the morning.
In a r/PixelWatch subreddit, a Redditor named "91114" posted that he set his Pixel Watch's alarm at 7:00 AM. However, he noticed that it was alarmed at 7:01 AM.
He just assumed that there was a glitch on the smartwatch that deleted the previous alarm. Later, he found out that there was another alarm set at 7:02 AM. At this point, he thought that this was an ongoing bug for all Pixel Watch units.
"On Monday it showed it was still set for 7 PM but it went off at 701," the Redditor posted. "So I thought maybe it was some kind of glitch and deleted the alarm and remade one. Same time (7 PM) and it went off at 702 instead. Has anyone else encountered something similar to this?" the original poster wrote.
It turns out that he's not the only person who has experienced this kind of trouble.
Another commenter who goes by the name "blaqice" said that his alarm went off one minute before or after the set alarm.
He once woke up four minutes earlier the next morning. A few nights ago, he would wake up six minutes later than the alarm set on Pixel Watch.
Before he assumed that there was a glitch in his smartwatch, he thought that there might be a discrepancy in the Pixel Watch update.
Google Needs to Solve the Pixel Watch Bug
Phone Arena reports that rolling out a new software update for the Pixel Watch can potentially solve the annoying glitch users experienced for the past weeks.
The news outlet adds that since it's possibly a software issue, the search engine giant might patch an update very soon so it won't make users late for work.
The fact that this is starting to impact the life of a typical person who lives paycheck to paycheck is not a joke anymore. Telling your boss that a Pixel Watch bug is the reason why you arrive late at work is not an easy reason to defend.
To temporarily address this problem, "zrobbs," another Redditor suggests users set a backup alarm for their Pixel Watches.
Is Google Pixel Watch Too Costly?
Digital Trends reported last week that Google used to charge $400 for a 4G LTE Pixel Watch variant that only costs around $123 to build.
It's reasonable that Google does this because the product also contains software updates that the company regularly maintains. However, gaining a 69% profit margin from selling smartwatches is still excessive for the part of consumers.
