Airbus to Create the First High-Performance Satellite 'Angeo-1' to Monitor Angola's Region

It claims to be the most advanced satellite available in orbit for the planet.

Multi-national space company, Airbus, is now in partnership with the French government after it meets with President Emmanuel Macaron to create a first-of-its-kind high-performance satellite. This is a collaboration between France and Angola to supply the Central African country with a new Earth observatory satellite called Angeo-1.

This satellite will focus on looking into the life present on Earth and everything it includes in the Angolan region, with the help of its overview from the planet's orbit coming soon.

Airbus Space recently announced that it secured a contract with the French government after a recent visit by President Macaron, which solidified the project for Angola. This new high-performance Angeo-1 satellite will center on improving life for the Angolan citizens, watching over their country and environment.

"As Angola's strategic partner for space, Airbus will deliver a latest-generation Earth observation satellite to support social and economic development including a range of strategic activities such as urban planning and management of precious mineral resources," said Jean-Marc Nasr, Head of Space Systems at Airbus.

This is France's collaboration with Angola, also strengthening their relationship.

France to Give Angola a Satellite to Monitor its Region

This new Angeo-1 would add to Angola's latest fleet in orbit that monitors the region's environment from above, providing satellite imagery and an overview of what needs the most urgent care or action. It would also help them learn more about their country, with France and Angola looking into its preservation and development.

Airbus said it will soon provide "Sovereign access to satellite imagery will make a significant contribution to the development of infrastructure, mapping of natural resources, maritime surveillance including fisheries, agriculture and population."

Earth-Watching Satellite for the Environment

Many satellites on the planet are currently in-orbit to provide different kinds of services for humans, both in the public and private sectors, whether it benefits their organizations or daily lives. One of the best-known orbiting satellites is from SpaceX, centering on the Starlink internet that beams down high-speed connections to its subscribers.

Agencies like NASA, ESA, and more center on using this device to monitor the planet from above, and several missions in the past deliver payloads to do their bidding.

Satellites like the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) to monitor the planet's water, ESA's Meteosat, which aims to look into unpredictable weather and climate anomalies, are among those created by the top agencies to help learn more about the planet.

The French and Angolan governments are now looking into a high-performance satellite it can use to look into their region in Central Africa, focusing on monitoring its environment. The new Angeo-1 serves as a token for their stronger relationship and connection but also helps to monitor the planet for their needs.
