Parisian fashion house Coperni made history by partnering with Boston Dynamics for the world's first-ever fashion show featuring robot dogs as the stars, as reported first by The Guardian.
In the city of love, the "Spots," Boston Dynamics' modern-day Hounds of the Baskervilles, took to the catwalk in their full glory.
Fashion Meets Technology
The fashion show was a spectacle of fashion and technology, with the robots helping models during their walks. One of the Spots helped a model take off her coat, while another carried a handbag for her. The audience was both mesmerized and amused by the sight, but they were left wondering who was controlling the machines.
At the end of the show, the robots were joined by their handlers. Coperni heads Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant had traveled to Boston to meet the creators of the robots and take part in the show.
In an interview with The Guardian, Vaillant shared his appreciation for Boston Dynamics, saying that the company was "the first robot company who signed a charter that they would never give weapons to robots, the first who sent robots to Ukraine to clear dangerous bomb sites."
The fashion designer added that the show's message was about the coexistence of humans and technology.
"Our message is a positive one, that humans and technology can live together in harmony," Vaillant said. He also admitted that he initially had reservations about using the robots for the show, but he now considers them beautiful.
