"League of Legends" Taric is now the first support hero to cross the 60% win rate milestone in Challenger Ranks.
This means that many "LoL" fans tend to win when they are using the Taric, the Shield of Valoran. Taric's achievement is quite surprising since this support mage-tank hero is usually disregarded by many gamers.
As of writing, his pick rate is quite low; around 1.5%. Meanwhile, his ban rate is even lower, sitting around at less than 0.5%, as reported by Dot Esports.

Although this is the case, he is still dominating as a support hero in Challenger. Many gaming enthusiasts concluded that his win rate increased because he is a great counter for support AD carries.
He is also an efficient hero against snowball composition teams. You may not feel his dominance during the early game. But, just wait until you reach the late game. His ultimate and crowd control abilities can definitely turn around team fights.
His healing effects also give your teammates advantages over the opposing team, allowing you to get those winning games.
Taric Guide 2023
If you want to bring the full potential of Taric, you must understand how his skills work.
Here's a quick recap of Taric's four abilities provided by MobaFire:
- Bravado: Next two basic attacks will deal bonus magic damage when other skills are used.
- Starlight's Touch: Stores charges up to 5 charges. The higher the charge, the better the healing effect.
- Bastion: Links you to another character while increasing Taric's armor. This skill also provides a shield when casted on allies.
- Dazzle: Stuns enemy heroes in its direction.
- Cosmic Radiance: Taric calls on the stars for protection. After 2.5 seconds of delay, you and all nearby allies will be invulnerable for 2.5 seconds.
Taric Tips
- Always remember to put wards on bushes that are usually used by enemy characters.
- Don't forget to check the map even when laning.
- Before initiating a team fight, make sure that all your skills are not on cool down.
- When the enemy team is getting the upper hand, remember to use your ultimate earlier.
- Don't link Taric on one champion only. Aside from ADC, your assassin and other squishy heroes also need healing and shielding.
- Don't be afraid to take damage from your opponent. But, also ensure that your sacrifice will be rewarded by more than two or more kills and other objectives.
