Meta's AI is Expanding as Mark Zuckerberg Forms New Team for Social Media Platforms

AI on Meta aims to bring the experience to social media.

Meta is now expanding its AI to vast opportunities, and this is through the latest team that its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, is forming, as per his latest announcement online. This will center on providing a team to work on its upcoming AI project called LLaMA, one which it introduced to the world last week to update the world of its latest work.

The AI team would center on delivering the experience and integrating it into social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Massive features are coming to social media with the Meta AI development that would center on the company's latest focus to make its presence felt across its online platforms. Zuckerberg announced this via his Facebook post earlier today, showing that the company is all hands on deck on this project to deliver the new experience.

"We're creating a new top-level product group at Meta focused on generative AI to turbocharge our work in this area," the CEO said.

While the company did not yet reveal the people behind this AI team, they would work under the leadership of Meta's Chief Product Officer, Chris Cox.

"We're starting by pulling together a lot of the teams working on generative AI across the company into one group focused on building delightful experiences around this technology into all of our different products," Zuckerberg added.

This team will be a culmination of Meta's AI team across its company, to soon help create its goals for artificial intelligence on social media.

Meta AI for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp

The CEO did not clarify whether it would be a byproduct of its latest LLaMA, but they would be pooling together all the AI experiences across Meta to bring its features to social media.

Zuck also mentioned that it would create "AI personas" that would be seen all over social media, including the text for Messenger and WhatsApp, image filters on Instagram, and video and multi-modal experiences, to start.

Meta and its Focus on AI in the Industry

One of the Big Tech companies already has their AI development but decided to create a language model like Google, Microsoft, and more now with Meta. The new Large Language Model Meta AI (LLaMA) will be its answer to the growing fame of OpenAI's ChatGPT, one that has been adopted by many companies or to rival this technology.

The company previously introduced the large language model in 2022 but did not give it the LLaMA name until this year. Back then, Facebook launched the use of its language model to access for free, available to all of their social media users to experience the power of AI, which Meta has been developing for the world.

Facebook and the other social media platforms under Meta are already using artificial intelligence to power their processes and monitor the content available online to help the public. However, this new LLaMA will help make AI's presence on the platform seen and felt first-hand by its users, with the new AI team to fulfill this for the company.
