OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot has been used by more than half of the US companies surveyed, a recent report suggests.
According to a poll of 1000 company executives conducted by Resumebuilder.com, approximately half of these companies have reported replacing certain employees with artificial intelligence (AI).
AI Usage Across Industries
Even though AI tech is only beginning to be used in businesses, employees need to undoubtedly think about how it may alter the obligations of their present job, said Stacie Haller, Chief Career Adviser at Resumebuilder.com.
Based on the responses to this study, it seems that companies are considering using ChatGPT to standardize some aspects of their workforce.
Since its release in November 2022, ChatGPT has attracted attention due to its ability to simplify many professional tasks. These include code development, copywriting, customer service, and summarizing lengthy documents.

Despite Potential Dangers
In a report by Interesting Engineering, questions have been raised concerning the fairness and accuracy of ChatGPT.
Others have voiced concerns about the potential dangers of investing too much in AI technology. Even OpenAI President Sam Altman has cautioned against the usage of ChatGPT for anything significant.
A tech journalist for the New York Times, Kevin Roose, recently had a two-hour chat with Microsoft's new AI-driven Bing search engine, powered by ChatGPT, and he expressed his reservations about the "unhinged" replies the system gave him.
Despite various concerns, most company executives seem pleased with ChatGPT's performance; 55% have rated it as "excellent" in terms of its work quality.
The poll found that almost all ChatGPT users had seen financial benefits, with 48% reporting savings of more than $50,000 and 11% reporting savings of more than $100,000.
Future Impact
How businesses' expanding usage of ChatGPT and other AI technologies will affect employees and job-seekers is an open question.

When asked whether ChatGPT would result in any layoffs by the end of 2023, about 33% of company leaders said "certainly," and 26% said "probably."
